The Elk-Lodge in Wildpark Lüneburger Heide is a rustic blockhouse restaurant in the middle of Wildpark (located between tigers and bears) with Alpine hut charm and cosy fire place. The Elk-Lodge offer 60 comfortable seats inside and 100 seats outside with beautiful view. You will reach Elk-Lodge about half-way of the round walk. It is an optimal location for a long break.
During winter time the wood burner is lit and as a guest you will be received by an atmosphere of comfort and peace. A Germknödel with poppy seeds and vanilla sauce for the whole family will round the trip off perfectly.
The pleasantly laid out terrace offers nice seats with great views on the surroundings. It is also a good place to go on a observation tour of animal and humans.

Maybe there is also a snack for you available?
The Elk-Lodge has been designed and built by dedicated craftsmen. The carpenter Thomas Hauschild who took part in sled-dog races in Canada, brought this Canadian construction style to Germany.
The tree trunks which he used came from the Wildpark's own forest and had their bark stripped with pressurised steam.
Natural sheeps wool was used between the tree trunks for insulation.
